NTCCTCC 2008 Lunar New Year Celebration
Year of the Rat
Dear Community Leaders,
On behalf of the Members and Board of Directors of the NTCCTCC, we would like to invite you to help us celebrate the Lunar New Year 4706, also known as the Year of the Rat, on Sat. Feb. 2, 2008 at the Renaissance Hotel in
The Lunar New Year is one of the most important and traditional celebrations to the Chinese people all over the world. Like most New Year, it symbolizes the passing of time, a phase ¡V most noticeable of course is the change of season - from winter to spring. However, it also is a time of change, from old to new. Progress and innovation comes to mind as we talk about change and that is what we have done this year with our association.
When people talk about the New Year, they also refer to it as the Spring Festival. Spring also symbolizes opportunity and we would like to take this opportunity to welcome you into our family to help us celebrate this happy occasion as the New Year is also one that is usually celebrated with family and close friends. Our theme this year has been CHANGE and we want to celebrate this change, this progress, this new direction with you our extended family!
This year, as in the past twelve years since we have celebrated together as the NTCCTCC, our membership has grown by leaps and bounds. In particular, we have drawn a younger generation from our community to participate in the organization. We believe that in order for us to grow and prosper in these exciting times, we need new ideas and a fresh perspective. It is a goal that we set out to develop over the years but finally seeing the fruits of our labor. That in itself is a big change and a major accomplishment for the organization.
Along with our traditional cultural programs, we have also introduced some new business opportunities for our members. It is because of the contributions of our Board of Directors and our generous members that we are able to continue to reinvest in the community that we live and work in on a daily basis. However, our capability is also limited by our size and it is because of this that we rely heavily on strategic partners like you to help us support the many programs we produce. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our organization and to help us celebrate our accomplishments over this past year.
We hope that you will join us as we welcome the New Year - a year full of high hopes and anticipation. Those born in the Year of the Rat are known to be very goal oriented and accomplish much. With that trait, we hope to set some very large goals for the association and with your help w
e will accomplish them with great success. Looking forward to celebrating with you!
Sincerely,
David Hsu
