Make Powerful Connections at the 6th Annual Asian Business EXPO

On Thursday, August 23, 2007, the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce –Southwest Region will present our 6th Annual Asian American Business EXPO. The EXPO will be held at the Arlington Convention Center in Arlington, Texas. The EXPO will open at 9:00am and concludes at 4:00pm. The purpose of the EXPO is to bring together Asian American suppliers, government agencies and major corporations under one roof for business to business matching opportunities. The EXPO also provides a value added venue for corporations to out reach to Asian consumers. With $400 Billion dollars in purchasing power, Asian American is the most affluent consumer group in the United States.

Since its inception in 2002, US Pan Asian American Chamber-SW has worked hard to provide certification education; create procurement connections opportunities to Asian American Suppliers. We focus on delivering programs and business venues that will set us on the right track for achieving our Supplier Diversity initiatives. We do this by presenting seminars and organizing power-networking venues through out the year. One of our signature programs is the Asian American Women Business Symposium to help Asian American women to expand and grow their businesses.

Decision makers from corporate America and government agencies will be at the EXPO to discuss critical issues such as access to capital and doing business successfully with Corporate America. The meteoric growth of the Asian population in Dallas and the Southwest in the last decade provides vast- albeit relatively untapped- economic opportunities for the region. Tapping into the Asian entrepreneurial spirit is therefore essential to making the DFW Metroplex another economic hub for Asian Americans in business.

Verizon Wireless’s Director of Supplier Diversity Gwen Wilson has graciously agreed to serve as the Corporate Chair of the EXPO. The much acclaimed CHASE Women Business Symposium at 10:00am will feature many dynamite women speakers including Carole Ishii, V.P. The Women Symposium is designed to inspire Asian American women to expand their influence in the business world; to enhance their ability to meet the challenges of a changing business world and to develop their businesses through procurement and certification.

A special Procurement Connections Roundtable workshop and the US-China CEO Forum are scheduled in the afternoon. The programs will be exciting and the seminar beneficial… This EXPO will set the stage once again to advocate the importance of knowledge and education about being certified and will make available to corporate and government procurement representatives solid diverse suppliers willing to provide quality products or services.
